From Anxious to Accomplished: Mastering Event Management Essentials

My journey in event planning and management began in 2014 as part of an in-house marketing team based in North London. I felt so overwhelmed but had the opportunity of being guided and helped by my then Marketing Director and the rest of the team. With their support, my first event was a success.

Since then, I’ve organised seminars, user groups, webinars and helped companies have a professional presence at conferences - in the U.K., U.S. and Europe (Munich and Paris).

In this episode, I tap into my experience of organising events and condense it into a few key best-practices and ideas.

  1. The three main factors that apply to all events, regardless of their type and size.

  2. Dealing with unforeseen challenges during the planning stage and on the day(s) of an event.

  3. The importance of asking for help, asking questions and communicating clearly with all the parties involved.

  4. Reading the small print. Contract management in event planning.

Last but not least, I argue that you should enjoy - or at least - try to enjoy the process (as stressful as it can be) and the event itself - which is the fruit of your labour.

I hope you’ll find this useful and would love to hear your thoughts and receive your questions.

Onwards and upwards!
